On Saturday, November 1, 2025, Cencap FCU merged with Self-Help Credit Union. As a result, Cencap FCU is now Cencap, a division of Self-Help Federal Credit Union.

This is an exciting time for Cencap as we continue to support our 8,000+ members while we reach out to welcome new members and partners to our growing family.

Since our founding in 1950, Cencap has been dedicated to helping members achieve their goals, realize their dreams, and build lasting financial security. Today, that dedication continues with renewed confidence thanks to our recent merger with Self-Help Federal Credit Union.

Formerly named Hartford Municipal Employees’ Federal Credit Union, Cencap has grown and evolved over our 75-year history. Our diverse membership includes the communities in and around Hartford, especially those who live, work, worship and attend school in select underserved areas.
